Sleep AI · Your privacy

A quieter night.
A clearer policy.

This policy explains what Sleep AI keeps on your phone, what limited technical data goes to Firebase, and how you can manage your information.

Effective date: 18 October 2026  ·  Applies to the Sleep AI Android and iOS app

Audio stays local

Sleep sound clips are saved on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or Firebase.

You control history

Clear recordings or delete saved sleep sessions from Settings at any time.

Technical data is sent

Firebase receives usage events, identifiers and diagnostics to run and improve the app.

About this policy

Morsol Systems operates Sleep AI (package ID com.sleep.tracker.sleepai). This policy applies to the Sleep AI mobile app and related support requests. It is separate from the general Morsol Systems website privacy policy and policies for our other apps.

Sleep AI does not require an account. It offers wellness estimates based on recorded sessions; it does not measure sleep stages or diagnose medical conditions.

What stays on your device

Sleep AI stores the profile name and preferences you enter, bedtime and wake goals, reminders, sleep sessions, sound events, journal notes, estimated scores, and reports in the app's local storage. The app's sleep analysis and coaching text are generated on the device.

On Android, when you choose to start a sleep session and grant microphone access, Sleep AI analyzes nearby sound on the device and may save short clips of possible snoring, talking, coughing, or other sounds. Recording can continue while the screen is locked or another app is open; a persistent notification shows that the session is active. Stop the session in the app to end recording. On platforms where sound capture is unavailable, the sleep timer can still run without recording audio.

We do not intentionally send microphone audio, saved clips, journal text, your profile name, or detailed sleep reports to Firebase. Firebase does receive technical and usage data described below.

Android builds from version 1.0.0 (2) exclude app data from Android cloud backup and automatic device transfer. Older app versions may have been included in a device backup before this change. On iOS, your device backup settings may include local app data in iCloud or a computer backup.

What is sent to Firebase

Sleep AI uses Google Firebase services. Depending on the device and enabled service, the following information can leave your device:

Analytics

Screen views, app sessions, and events such as starting or ending a sleep session, changing settings, or opening a notification. Analytics can collect an app instance ID, Android Advertising ID where available, and approximate location inferred from a masked IP address.

Crash reports

Crash logs, stack traces, relevant app state, device and app details, and installation identifiers help us diagnose and fix problems.

Cloud Messaging

Firebase uses an installation identifier, messaging token, app version, and notification interaction events to deliver and measure app notifications where available.

Remote Config

Firebase receives information such as country code, language, time zone, operating system and app version to provide settings such as update notices.

We use this technical data to operate notifications and update notices, understand feature use, and improve app stability. Sleep AI does not currently show ads or sell your sleep data. Firebase's own processing is described in Firebase Privacy and Security.

Permissions and your choices

Microphone

Microphone access is requested for the optional sound recording feature. You can deny or revoke it in your device settings. Sleep sound recording will be unavailable without permission; other app features can still be used.

Notifications

Notification permission allows bedtime and wake reminders, recording status, and app messages. You can change it in your device settings. You may also receive app messages through Firebase Cloud Messaging when notifications are enabled.

Export and support

If you export sleep history, the app copies the JSON export to your clipboard for you to save or share. Other apps or services you choose to paste it into have their own privacy practices. If you email support, we receive the information and contact details included in your message.

Sharing and international processing

We use Google Firebase to process the limited technical data above on our behalf. Firebase may use service providers and may process data outside your country. We may disclose information when required by law. If you choose to export or share your own data, that transfer is under your control.

We do not upload your saved audio clips or detailed sleep history to an account or advertising service. If our data practices change, we will update this page and the store disclosures.

How long data stays and how to delete it

Saved audio clips remain on your device for up to seven days and may be removed sooner when the app's 64 MB audio storage limit is reached. In Settings → Audio storage, you can clear clips while keeping your sleep timeline and session history. In Settings → Delete sleep history, you can remove saved sessions and their associated clips. Profile settings remain until you change them or remove the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, subject to any copies you exported yourself or backups made by older versions.

Firebase keeps technical data under its service settings and retention rules. The in-app delete controls remove local sleep data; they do not automatically erase Firebase analytics or crash reports. For a request about data held by Morsol Systems or Firebase, email us at support@morsolsystems.com. We will review the request and explain what we can identify and remove.

Security

Sleep AI stores recordings in its app storage, protected by your device's operating-system access controls. Firebase encrypts the data it receives in transit. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so protect access to your phone and any exported copies of your data.

Children's privacy

Sleep AI is not designed for children under 13. It does not offer accounts. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, please contact us so we can review it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when Sleep AI's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top shows when this version began to apply.
